2024 Summer 體驗靠靈敏的狗鼻子完成短途環形健行
杜地亞距離珀斯約1小時車程，很適合一天遊。初次和朋友一起健行，連同超帥氣的狗狗「木木」一行5人浩浩蕩蕩地開始探索這個地方。沿火車站向紐卡斯爾監獄博物館出發，我們隨意走到一個小山丘，發現和香港不同的氣候，令整個行山風景也非常不一樣！由於夏天乾燥，所以很多山坡都光禿禿的。相反，冬天雨水很多，才是看不同植物的好時機。後來我們成功看到第一次世界大戰的遺跡，相信當時被用作射擊場的場地（如果沒有說明牌在旁邊，很容易被忽略）。
雖然沿路有指示引領，但不是太清晰，最後在木木的帶領，成功回到起點！主人很有愛心，在原居地花了很多心思（和金錢！）帶木木來西澳。如果大家有移居打算，一定要帶竉物呀，它們是人類的家人唷！
2024 Summer Finish a loop hike with sensitive dog nose
It normally takes 1hr to drive from Perth to Toodyay and it is best for a day-visit. This was the first time we hiked with our friends and their handsome dog ‘Miggie’. We started our hike from train station, to the direction of Newcastle Gaol Museum. We casually hiked to a small mountain top and realized how different the view can be when the climate is so different from that in Hong Kong! Since summer is dry here, lots of hillocks are really bare. Conversely, it rains a lot in winter and that’s the best time to see different types of plants. Later, we could see the remains of World War I, which is believed that it was used as a rifle range (If the information sign is not put on the side, it is definitely being ignored).
Even though there are some directories along the way, it isn’t really clear. We were able to find back the starting point with the help of Miggie! Our friend are loving owners and they spent a lot of effort (and money!) to bring Miggie from their original birthplace to WA. If you have plan to migrate, remember to bring your pets since they are your family!
