2024 SummerDay 0 瘋狂的理由：日本夏天雨季難以行山 不如踩單車？不如環琵琶湖？
今次的即興單車旅行源於問我朋友的一句：「日本夏天雨季難以行山，不如踩單車？」朋友雖然曾經在香港公路踩單車，但也好久沒有練習，所以我們就選擇了相對簡單的3天2夜的琵琶湖。
我們大約3個月前上網預訂單車和住宿，我們選擇米原車站自行車租賃站的最大原因是因為我們可以在完結時洗澡，然後直接到機場離開。事實證明選擇正確，工作人員可用英語溝通，出發前有詳細說明單車使用和路線，令我們都相當放心。
前一晚住在米原站附近，可惜行李不能寄存在住宿地。幸好最後租單車地方可付費寄存，乾淨衣物放在行李內，最後一天還可以洗澡，後來我們認為這是這個旅程最好的決定。
Day 0 Reason for this crazy trip: it rains a lot in Japan during summer and it’s difficult to hike, shall we bike instead?
This impulsive biking trip started with me asking my friend the other day, ‘It is difficult to hike in Japan during summer because it rains a lot. Shall we bike instead?’ Although my friend has biked on the freeway in Hong Kong, she hasn’t practised for a long time. Thus, we chose Lake Biwa as it is relatively easy for a 3D2N trip.
We made a reservation for the bike and accommodation online three months ago. The reason why we chose Biwaichi Rental Cycle Maibara Cycle Station was because of the complimentary shower service. It proved that we made the correct decision. We could communicate in English with the staff and they were very helpful with the familiarisation of the bike and route explanation. We were definitely feeling content when we set off.
We stayed near Maibara Station the previous night. Unfortunately, we could not store our luggage at the hotel. Luckily, the rental station helped us with a small charge. We put our clean clothes in the luggage and were able to shower on Day 3. It was the best decision that we made.
