2022 Japan:
Temizuya, which is water pavilion, is for visitor to purify their body and mind with water before standing in front of the deity. Meanwhile, hanachozu, that is flower water pavilion, was emerged because of 2019 pandemic. There was hygienic problem if visitors use the same bowl of water to wash their hands and Japanese think of using flower to decorate the area as substitute.
This shrine is really colorful and the staff would change the flowers regularly when weather changes. This act attracts loads of visitors to visit. Personally speaking, it is best for taking pictures, but there was no other special tourist spots nearby. If time is not allowed, you may not be able to fit in the itinerary. Though, understanding how shrines react to social incidents is a great way to understand Japan.

The photo is really special with sunlight cutting through the flower water pavilion
